Choosing the Right Bridesmaids DressesAfter choosing the style and colour of your Bridesmaids dresses, we will place the order with our suppliers enabling any alterations to be made in plenty of time and in most cases, we can accommodate even the most demanding timescales. This normally takes place after the Bride has chosen her dress enabling the right style and colour to be chosen to compliment the Bride’s dress style and colour. Visit Pam's Style Gallery Many of our evening dresses are suitable for Bridesmaid’s and you may call at our shop Unit 4, Green Street Mews, Green Street, Truro, (opposite the bus station) or make a private appointment to discuss your requirements and view our extensive range. Pam will be on hand to advise and assist with your choice. If you are able to bring a photograph of the bride wearing her dress (maybe at the first fitting), it can help Pam to recommend a suitable style and colour for the Bridesmaids dresses. When choosing her Bridesmaids dresses the bride usually has a colour in mind, which hopefully suits all the bridesmaids, but there is nothing to stop you from choosing different colours for each Bridesmaid. The style of the Bridesmaids dress is also important so as to suit all Bridesmaids, regardless of their shape and size. Here again you may wish to choose different styles for each Bridesmaid, and remember your Bridesmaids dresses should compliment your bridal gown and not compete with it. After all it's the Bride’s Big Day. There are many styles suitable for Bridesmaids dresses. For example, you may choose an empire style, a princess style, simple straight dress or possibly a two piece dress which could be separated and the bodice used, perhaps, with a pair of trousers or another skirt. Shorter style dresses are becoming increasingly popular which could be used time and time again by the Bridesmaids as a smart evening wear or cocktail dress. The material chosen for your Bridesmaids dress is also of importance. A light weight fabric such as chiffon or light weight satin or taffeta would be ideal for a summer wedding whereas a heavy satin or velvet more suitable for a winter wedding, or even dresses with a cape or stole. Some fabrics may look good with the Brides dress and others not quite right, so it is important that the Brides dress is chosen before the Bridesmaids. |
